It's just a big realignment to fight the coming oil wars, as opposed to the invasion of western europe by the Soviets. Our military spending continues to go UP, and is now equal to what the rest of the entire world spends. With 5% of the world's population, we comprise 50% of the world's military spending - and that's with countries on our land borders that represent absolutely no military threat to us. We create boogeymen all over, but to the rest of the world, and anyone with a brain, it's obvious the bogeyman is US.
