Pearly Button Re: "it was a war though" You Brits were some tough rascals in WWII also, especially the Royal Navy. An uncle of mine was a deck officer on a corvette in the North Atlantic, part of the time on convoy escort duty working with destroyers of the Royal Navy hunting down German submarines. On two separate occasions his crew had rescued survivors of a German sub they had depth charged and as their vessel was very small they arranged to transfer the German prisoners to the much larger RN destroyer in their group. As this was the rough cold N Atlantic the only way to transfer was with a bosons chair. Uncle's ship drew up along side the destroyer and his crew mates sent the Germans across the waves one by one in the bosons chair. As soon as the Germans landed on the deck of the British ship they were carried across the deck to the other side of the ship and thrown into the North Atlantic. I know this was true because I have letters between uncle and another shipmate relating to this many years after the war. Uncle thought this cruel beyond belief and was certain no American crew would have behaved in such a manner. Uncle served in high political office after the war and had no use for the English to his dying day.

Would that be a war crime? Would it be worse than "Abu Grab"? If any of those Royal Navy seamen still survive should they be tried for "war crimes"?
