What makes me wonder about homosexuality is the fact that its so pervasive throughout the animal kingdom.

It could be that a family which has a certain amount of homosexuality in it's gene pool is able to have siblings which don't marry, and so help raise the kids of those who do.
This would make those kids more likely to survive and they would carry some genes (about 33%) of the homosexual siblings genes too.

In every scientific poll I've seen, the percentage of gay people in the population of humans has hovered around 10%. It's been consistently that way. My own belief is that it's more environment than genetic, but I don't rule out genes. Like I've said before, some people are fat because they have bad genes. Others are fat because they eat too much. Similarly, some people are gay because of the environment they grew up in or the lifestyle choices they've made. Others may be gay because their genes make them predisposed to it.

As far as the morality of it all goes, I'm a victim of my socialization as well. I think it is wrong, because Catholics are taught that. But if science proves that gay people have no choice in the matter, then I'd change my mind. Until then, I frown on it, but would not go so far as to say I want to impose my will on them or deny them the same rights as everyone else has, as long as whatever they are doing is between 2 consenting adults.
