Stupid. Believing Saddam had WMDs, was good reason to send inspectors. Which is what the UN did.

And as it turned out, the inspectors had turned over almost every rock and leaf in Iraq and found just one item that was considered a breach of the UN requirements -- a few rockets that had ranges slightly longer than permitted by the UN.

After that, they found nothing and neither did Dumbya's own weapons inspection team led by David Kay, which went in after Dumbya kicked out the inspectors and launched the invasion.

Well you're wrong. Invading Saddam's Iraq simply because you suspect he has WMD's turned out to be a terrible idea. Especially without adequate preparation and allies. There were much smarter ways of dealing with this, many of which were already successfully running their course.

And if we use that logic, then we should also be invading Iran, Syria, North Korea and others around the world. We should also think about taking out Saudi Arabia.

Turns out by the way that Clinton's bombings and the UN inspectors destroyed Saddam's WMD's.

The biggest problem with Bushies is that, even when they are proven wrong, they will never admit they lied, never admit their true motives, never take responsibility, never correct course, never police themselves, never fire anyone for doing bad things and never promote anyone for telling the truth. It's all upsidedown. In the Bushie world, the more you cheat and lie the more power you get. Look at Rice, Katherine Harris, Ed Gillespie and so many others. Just a big unethical political movement.

This is getting more... ahem... "interesting"!

Some Iraqi legislators seek U.S. pullout

By Sana Abdallah

06/19/05 "UPI" - - A large minority of Iraqi legislators Sunday demanded a timetable for the withdrawal of the U.S.-led forces from Iraq.

A memorandum signed by 83 MPs in the 275-seat National Assembly was submitted to the House speaker Sunday in which they blasted the Iraqi government's request to the U.N. Security Council to extend the presence of the foreign forces in the country.

None of the legislators in the elected parliament, dominated by Kurds and Shiites, objected to the memorandum, which was read by one of the signatories.

The memo described the request to the Security Council, submitted by Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zibari, as an "attempt to legitimize the American occupation of Iraq."

They blasted the Iraqi government for seeking the extension to the occupation without consulting with the National Assembly.

The signatories insisted there was no justification for coalition forces to remain after the Iraqi security forces "took control and imposed their authority in the Iraqi street by breaking the back of terrorism."

MAN GET A LIFE!....
believe a REPUBLICAN GENERAL/PRESIDENT!
This of course in ADDITION TO BEWARE OF THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX....who! better would know?.....NO ONE
Now it is true that I believe this country is following a dangerous trend when it permits too great a degree of centralization of governmental functions. I oppose this--in some instances the fight is a rather desperate one. But to attain any success it is quite clear that the Federal government cannot avoid or escape responsibilities which the mass of the people firmly believe should be undertaken by it. The political processes of our country are such that if a rule of reason is not applied in this effort, we will lose everything--even to a possible and drastic change in the Constitution. This is what I mean by my constant insistence upon "moderation" in government. Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid.
