I had to google it myself, but the outrage is mostly over Al Jazeera picking up Durbin's comments, which were reported as an indication that important Americans were outraged over the treatment of prisoners in Guantanamo.

It's one of those double recursive endless feedback loop thingies. Let's don't talk about Guantanamo, let's talk about Durbin and Al Jazeera.

But, on the other hand, Durbin handed the diversion to them on a silver platter.

Interesting timing since new revelations about Abu Ghraib are promised. Wag the dog?
