I think sometimes you have to consider views differently than from your own demographic perspective. And recognize that an Asian just might think the USA was worse back in the old days because they were arresting Japanese decendents. Don't get so locked into your own demographic perspective, that you don't see another groups perspective. In fact, denying that demographic differences exist, could actually make you unknowingly less respectful to people of different demographics. I have the impression you don't like it when people point out demographic diffences, yet sometimes by being informed about those differences you can actually be more constructive. You can be too politically correct by pretending there are no demographic differences, but in the process, unknowingly trample all over those people that are demographically different than you. I personally think it's more respectful to recognize differences rather than denying them and unknowingly stepping all over someone by pretending those differences don't exist. I can't think of any black person or Asian person that thinks the USA was better back in the "good ol' days." Am trying to be helpful by pointing this out. Maybe you would like to consider another perspective here as well: news.yahoo.com "But as she writhed in pain at a Riverside hospital, laboring to push her baby into the world, Sierra faced a challenge not covered in the childbirth books: Her wrists were shackled to the bed."
