LOL

I was born in a democrat household.....but that doesn't count because they were all Scoop Jackson democrats. We know those democrats are gone.....the party has been taken over by a different kind of democrat. I do have liberal friends, but we don't discuss politics because they can't without resorting to rude invectives (they tend to lump all conservatives together and where that comes from I do not know) and they refuse to listen to my pov. It seems to be very difficult for them to get beyond the hatred they have for anything conservative, so over time I've learned to avoid that trap. Unfortunately, it's always a one sided conversation as I can't get them to listen to my ideas. And no, I'm not so narrow minded that I expect anyone to "come around." I just can't get them to engage in political conversation, so I don't bother any more. It's difficult when it's their way or the highway. If you are willing to have a discussion about issues without denigrating our president or conservative representatives, thoughts or ideas, you are the rare exception in my experience.

I listen to a few of the liberal talk shows in Seattle and weigh what they say. One in particular is so one sided I'm left with the same impression. I really wish he'd open his mind a bit. Even though we all know who voted how in that decision, he suggested today that the SC ruling on property rights was driven by the right designed to enrich the wealthy and hurt the poor. I don't see it that way, and when he had a few callers disagree he shut off the conversation with them. How are we going to get anywhere with attitudes like that?

I would like you to explain what you mean by "cult following" and who exactly you are referring to when you say it.

You'll note that Reagan and our current president have something of a cult following themselves. I find that equally ridiculous.
