What's your solution? Let them go so they can be hailed as heroes and can start anew? Surely not.

Carranza, you are not reading with your usual attentiveness.

I refuse to shed a tear for them.

I'm not shedding any tears for them. I haven't expressed any objection to their treatment. You must have me mixed up with someone else. I didn't even object to the incident referred to by Durbin. What I have a problem with is the fuzziness of the scenario and the problems it's causing us.

I don't think there's been much temporizing. I think this has been clearly the position for some time.

What has clearly been the position for some time?

What is the position on how long we're going to hold them and where is it justified and published. If it's not out there, clear to those involved, clear the the American public, clear to our enemies and our allies, then they're temporizing, IMO. What are they waiting for? I assume we're keeping them forever, or at least until there's a different administration with a different idea. When are we going to announce that? Five years? Ten? Thirty?

I think that you and I have a much better idea of what the administration's position is than just about everyone on the planet. We've turned this stuff over and over. If it's out there with the broader audience, why do people keep using the justice system paradigm when it's not relevant? No, I don't think things are clear and I definitely think they should be. I think the administration should fish or cut bait.
