Kids, even at a young age, know a lot more about what's going on than many adults would like to believe. Having pot smoke wafting through the house or back yard is not something I want to expose my kids or my neighbor's kids to. It doesn't set the right example, imo.

If you've told your kids pot doesn't work on you and that it would be better if they don't try it, and they agree, you are truly lucky. However, I suspect many kids would ask themselves how you know pot doesn't work for you if you yourself hadn't tried it. And if it was good enough for you to try, why can't they? Who knows, some might even interpret your rational as tacit approval to use pot if it works on them, but not if it doesn't.
