<More amazing is that we have to protect these propoganda freaks which are controlling the Saudi government.>

It is called "dependency". We are energy dependent on ME countries whom we not so secretly loathe for their repressive regimes. We are financially dependent on countries like China whom we deride as "backward" places teeming with cheap labor.

It is called poor decision making on the part of Americans and even worse political leadership.

Even more unbelievable that the terrorists - Taliban, Al Quaeda, foreign fighters, or whatever moniker - are basing their fundamental intolerance on Wahabbi (Salafi) indoctrination. Here is the real conspiracy. The Saudis indoctrinate the terrorists in their religious schools. They run them out of the country when they get too dangerous. They buy US military support to protect the oil and their regime. They finance Islamic charities all across the ME, India, and Africa with oil vouchers to indoctrinate Wahabbi into more Muslim populations. They jihad all of the Shi'a in Iraq. They are unifying Muslim in their fundamental interpretation. They are basically doing this with very little resistance because Islam likes to keep covering up it's nasty little secrets and traditions.

Everyone assumes that the US is the one calling all of the shots. I think the influence is the other way around. I think the Saudis are calling all of the shots. It would be a real shame if we end up getting duped into acting as the puppets of a Muslim empire of Salafi totalitarianism.
