Ted, Ten had good luck with his Ford Taurus too. Well not really. The transmission went out on the Taurus at around 87K miles. Not suddenly, mind you, but when the warning signs appeared, I decided it was time to move on. In other words, I could have saved the transmission for a couple of grand and continued driving the Taurus for another 80K miles, but I didn't. Like I told Steve via PM, the key is proper maintenance. The "good luck" in my case was a local mechanic who was not only trustworthy, but enjoyed working on Ford cars. That was back in Oregon. I'm still trying to find a good Beamer mechanic here in the OC. (The last one was OK, except he may have overcharged me on labor. After all, it shouldn't take a whole hour just to hook up a car to a computer.) Tenchusatsu
