Back in 1970 it seemed like common sense would prevail and legalization was imminent as a matter of course. Simple reason should have prevailed then.

Now the issue is so politicized that it has become like the wars in China over which tea should be the national tea, or the egg war in lilliput. There is so much government corruption in the war on drugs and so much nonsense on the advocacy side that I just can't get to exercised about it any more. We lost the ability to deal with it as the simple issue it is long ago. To be honest, the whole topic makes me yawn. I really don't care if its legal or not and the machinations in place to deal with it are ridiculously over blown.

The only thing that does bother me about it is what I have always seen issues like this do to our collective conscience. We must stand up for honor and nobility or sacrifice our selves to petty grubbing for nickles and lose favors. That, my friend, is what is lost in the frenzy.
