The Republicans in power only pretend to care about the troops. That should be obvious just with how long it has taken to not even get all of their vehicles armored. I know there is a shoe/boot company in Oregon that a lot of parents buy combat boots from to send to their children in jeopardy, because the general issue ones are cheap and insufficient. And the administration is always trying to close VA hospitals and cut benefits to veterans in every way they can think of. These people are not patriots in any true sense--in fact, they are disgusting. It is the "lefties" like me who believe that no veteran should ever be homeless, that veterans are entitled to high quality medical and psychiatric treatment, etc.
