I for one will abstain from the new cards that come with gifts because it affects my auto insurance. When I drop below the top discount threshold, it raises my annual bill about $150 (I just missed out last year due to too many nonsense cards like Unocal & Nordstrom which I hadn't bothered to cancel so they figured into their bizarre formula).
