re: Its amazing to me that Elroy can make statements like the above. Not that its all that important at this stage of the game but its apparent that some Americans are having trouble understanding why things are screwed up in Iraq. They get that its screwed up but they can't seem to figure out why. So true. It's a mindset. They come from a real simple world where the US can do no wrong, where we somehow have the moral right to impose our will anywhere in anyway; we are totally, 100% morally superior. It's our (their) birthright. When you come from that "place", it's hard and painful to come to the realization that we are fallible. That all those folks are dying for nothing. That the adventure was not even slightly honorable from the get go. It's just starting to seep in; it will take years. John
