Hi energy--
I sense a debate coming on. (: I'm not talking about pure economic theory, but about the human part of the equation.

Goods made by children in a sweatshop that WalMart pays next to nothing for, for example, are part of a trade picture that I would call "unfair". If I'm wearing a garment made by workers under inhumane conditions, I am part of the supply chain and am therefore culpable, no matter how often our elected leaders and economic theorists assure me that what I'm doing is "fair".

Bono has created a line of high fashion clothing called Edun that is made in Africa by Africans. What's great about this is that he's raising awareness-what is the story behind that piece of clothing you're wearing? Wouldn't you gladly pay a few dollars more to know that someone was treated fairly in the making of it? I believe most people would.
