Not so far off. I have noticed the party self destructing for some time now. I remember hearing that N.O.W. declared it ok for clinton to abuse women as long as it wasn't more than once a year... or some such nonsense. Don't remember where I heard that but I don't hear about N.O.W. any more and they were a very powerful group at the time. In order for the party to come back it needs to establish a new fundamentally principled back bone. The extremists that rant and rave on these threads are bringing a death blow to their own party. The transparent moralizing and indignation expressed by people trying to bring the Bush Admin down is doing for the Democratic party what the NOW spokespersons did for that organization. There are plenty of legitimate criticisms we could express about the government that aren't being dealt with because of these lilliput ravers.
