This was shaped force.

At the time, the only shape thought to do the job was the sphere. Inside the sphere, several beams of energy would be focused toward a pellet that had been dropped into the chamber.

His concept was to use the cylinder and spiral the energy beams toward the center core. By adjusting the angle of the entering beam (s?) the number of intersections could be greatly increased.

So then, instead of several there would now be thousands of intersecting beams.

Because the system was shaped, each collision acted as a accelerator of electrons. (ie x in 10x out)

If it worked, you could have this puppy in your garage !!
