First off, it is a mistake to consider all German Soldiers Nazi's. That simply isnt so. I suppose the Panzer divisions where comprised largely of Nazi's (not even sure of that) but the typical German soldier and even their commanders were not political, same as ours today here. They were just doing their job as they were ordered. As to American soldiers, in my experience in one war, my brothers experience in two other wars, all in all we are a good group of people. I have seen and heard of many wonderful things we have done for civilians especially children even in combat. My brother NEARLY DROWNED swimming a river in Korea to during the Korean war to give some candy and canned goods to children on the other side. I and my comrades often gave parts of our rations to people, usually children. When you and others make demeaning statements about our troops, I realize it is mainly out of ignorance but you should have more faith in the AMERICAN SPIRIT. No fiercer enemy, no better friend. jdn

Your efforts would be better spent trying to prevent atrocities on the parts of illegal combatants by the tens of thousands, than a handful of errors or judgement or otherwise by the U.S. military.
