What kind of logic is that? Take you tax money and give it to you for driving a car that is a POS? Unless of course, you don't pay taxes...

If I'm not mistaken, the tax incentive expires at the end of this year.

If tax incentives where created or enlarged lots of things would make more sense financially to the people who would get the incentives. I don't think noting that fact is particularly interesting or is an argument for anything.
