Get the book, "High Tech Stocks and Mutual Funds" by Michael Murphy. It takes hundreds of millions of dollars to bring a drug to market.

Apparently, you can't respond. That's ok, why break your record?

Big business has big investment. And I'm already somewhat familiar with the risks associated with pharmecuetical research. But I'm not about to claim that United Airlines is a low risk business that has no substantial investment.

But the big pharms have all learned about risk management and they are making returns that exceed other industries. Which doesn't bother me one bit. In a free market they're allowed to make as much as they can get away with. On the other hand, volume buyers are in a position to negotiate prices. Cosco negotiates with the pharms and I'm not inclined to legislate that Cosco can't negotiate for prices. And for exactly the same reason I object to legislating that the US Government can't negotiate for lower prices. It's up to the pharms to decide the price point. Prohibiting the government from negotiating for prices is anti-capitalism and anti-free market.
