Terrorists Win Another One . . . . France on Wednesday said it would reintroduce European Union border controls following last week's terrorist attacks in London. Speaking on the sidelines of an interior ministers' meeting in Brussels, Nicolas Sarkozy, French interior minister, said: "If we don't reinforce border controls when around 50 people die in London, I don't know when I would do it." A clause within the Schengen Agreement allows for the controls to be reinstated and Mr Sarkozy said that this had been activated by France .The country has used the clause in the past, mainly for sporting events. Short FT article here. If the Europeans want to see their economies really hit the skids, stop the movement of people. Brothers Bush and Blair says "we will protect our way of life." Right. "And which principle considers your blood real blood and our blood water?" - Osama bin Laden This must be why his followers in Iraq are brainwashing all these poor schmucks from outside the country to blow up other Iraqis (like that pleasant report today of the suicide bomber driving an explosive laden SUV into a group of school children.) Muslims have been killing each other in that region without Shrub's help - such as the Iran / Iraq war that killed, what, over a million Arabs and Persians all told - and we'd be well advised to not touch those inter tribal and inter ethnic conflicts with a 10 foot pole. We only hear all this stuff about Islamic nationalism because of our addiction to mideast oil. Otherwise, it would be like sub Saharan Africa, where millions are dying, where the adult life expectancy in many countries is in the low 40's, and where barely a word is spoken, compared to the plight of those poor suffering Palestinians. Nobody demonstrated in the streets when the genocide in Rwanda went down, did they ? All the West did was talk about it till it was too late. I'd prefer being a lot more isolationist and not meddling in other people's affairs. Why should we always take all the blame for things which we only have made worse, but are not really our fault for at bottom.
