It has, actually. And I said it quite a few times in the past. And then I grew up. Along the way, I met quite a few people who are very intelligent and intellectual, AND harbor a belief in "God". What I came to realize is that most people on this planet are plain simple indoctrinated from infancy onwards re God and religion. As a result, they cannot question & reverse it, any more than they can question & reverse, say, their love for their mothers. Their "faith" (or "indoctrination") becomes detached from their intellect. >>>Personally, I am not convinced that those who believe a married woman got pregnant from God while a virgin are any less nutty than those who believe in some galactic tyrant named "Xenu"<<< Would you care to cite where I said otherwise? When you singled out Tom Cruise with "You believe this crap [Scientology] and I'm supposed to believe you have the edge over a peanut in IQ?", I didn't realize you were extending the courtesy to every single believer of every religion, including, obviously, your own President :-)Bush at least has the excuse of "playng to base support". What's Tom's excuse? Err... What about "Saying what he believes to be true"? Tom Cruise is just some guy. He can say whatever he thinks and it does not affect any of us. Frankly, I couldn't care less what he believes and what he says. Bush, on the other hand, is the Prezzy of your country. He holds the fate of stem cell research in the US in his hands. His nutty religious views on the subject have already hindered development in this area such that US already lost the lead on this new scientific frontier. I would think you should show slightly more reaction to Bush's religious nuttiness than Tom Cruise's.
