your description of tennis sounds like you last watched in when John McEnroe had hair. tennis today is the world's most international sport; and the best individual sport, bar none, combining endurance, athleticism, and skill. the best tournament is the men's French Open. i think it is the most physically grueling pro sports event other than the Tour de France. watch that for two weeks next year and i think your opinion will be changed.
it is also the only pro sport other than straight up athletics (swimming, running...although swimming is also a skill sport unlike running) which is readily participated in by large numbers of regular adults. (golf is also participated by large numbers of adults, but it is a game, not a sport. more like bowling or billiards or dominoes.)
