"And the trend is our friend." I dont see it this way although i want to. I think we will be in the same place more or less next July. Without the focal point of the American occupation perhaps the iraqis will have a better shot at rising to the occasion. Terrorists are there because we are there. If we are gone, the foreigners have nothing to fight for. Iraq will not be ruled by foreigners. Sunniland cannot become afganistan because there are few native terrorists. So i guess i am back to stated timetable to diffuse the opposition. In either scenario we disengage and leave, so why not announce it?
