Any extrapolation carries the risk of overstressing a linear presumption. But those two groups have a multidecade history of operations - I don't see much reason for them to face different odds in their recruitment going forward. I expect the anti-Israeli groups to lose some of their appeal once Palestine is an independent state. Afghanistan and Iraq may be different since the bad guys want control there, as far as I can see. They aren't deterred by a huge US force or tempted into the budding political process. No easy answers.
