I personally believe the court should be the best qualified - the job is to critical to the country to be based on some other agenda. Of course the president in power at the time has an agenda - so it's already flawed in the beginning. :-(

Yes, I would agree that best qualified is the way to go but can you honestly tell me that Roberts was best qualified with only two years experience on a federal court? I don't think best qualified was the primary standard for Bush's selection.
