You hit on a lot of good points. Many folks voted against their own self interest for what one of my friends calls "Molecular Reasons." He connected to Bush and not to Kerry, what we hippies used to call "vibes", and, since he is not a reader and listens to hate radio, gladly voted for him. Meanwhile, Bush is doing everything in his power to send the guy's job overseas and create a world where his baby daughter will have to fight in a war when she is of age. But that stuff never crossed his mind, despite the fact I kept trying to pound it into him. What can you do? The first union to endorse Reagan was Patco. It just shows to go you that voters sometimes don't have a clue.
