tejek, you are missing the whole point of freedom. Absolute freedom is not a God given right and absolute freedom is not a legistlated right in our country either. Your freedoms should exist only insofar as it doesn't impinge on the freedoms of others. The minute your actions start to harm others, that is when your actions pass from the realm of freedom and into the realm of antisocial behavior. That's just it.......his speech is not impinging on others. Its not pleasant but it doesn't impinge on others. He's very careful to not say that he or Muslims are plotting the overthrow of the Brit. gov't. He would like to see that happen but he doesn't suggest in any way that he is talking about the overthrow of the govt. He describes the Muslims' behavior as defensive........as a reaction to Western aggressions. He is saying that Islam is a religion of peace except when attacked. What you find most annoying is what isn't said. His intent is arrogant and he is using our democracy to rub our noses in horse puckey. He knows the Brits want to deport him but if they do, he knows that he has won.........that our talk of democracy is all a sham. And he can turn to Muslims and say don't buy into their democratic ideals, its all garbage. That's what people like he and OBL try to do......throw our democracy and its freedoms back in our faces. Use those freedoms against us. They want us to renounce our democracy. That would make them very happy. What they want for the world is theocracy.....society ruled by the clerics of every religion. Freedoms exist to help a society grow, as well as the invidivuals within them. Freedoms DO NOT exist to tear a society apart and allow an individual to destroy their own health, spiritual or otherwise. Sorry, but our nation was founded on controversy. People were unhappy with the status quo and went about changing it. It happens every day in this country. Without controversy, there would be no change. Therefore, limiting free speech by banning hate speech intended to incite violence is completely within the intent of our constitution, and within the moral bounds of any liberal society. If that were true, then Aryan Nation would not be allowed to assemble and do a parade. I am not an attorney but as far as I know, a hate speech is not treasonous so long as it doesn't encourage the overthrow of the gov't.
