Way back when, you posted that you got a handsome but unneeded tax cut yourself.

Twould have been nice, Mike, but it didn't get through the system to us. Since the feds decided one way to make up for the tax cuts was to cut support for state governments and since the state governments (NJ) decided one way to make up for the fed tax cuts was to provide less support for local governments, the increase in our property taxes more than made up for the minimal tax cut.

Yep, you got it right. Bush is partially responsible for our property tax increase. And certainly responsible for the portion of it that makes the fed tax cut a wash.

On the personal charity front, my guess is that most folk who hang out on this thread do their share. But that's not even close to addressing the structural needs of the poor.
