Formal education was what I was referring to. That much was obvious.

Of course, I know street thugs who have more "education" than most of the armchair liberals glued to SI every day.

If you surveyed the academic world and measured the number of years of education and university-level teaching/researching experience combined, I think you would find a majority that is relatively more liberal. I don't have the hard data to prove that, however.

The kind of people who end up in certain jobs probably says more about their pre-education predilections than the impact of how many years they hit the books.

I don't know what the statistical correlation is between the number of years of postgraduate education and liberal/conservative leanings among the populace at large outside one particular profession.

No doubt the data is out there if someone wants to ferret it out.

So, is it doctors in general that you consider uneducated or just conservative doctors? Seems to me you are confusing "educated" with "indoctrinated."
