I was interested in the liberalizing effect of education. I do not think education and "intelligence" are the same thing at all. A person with native intelligence can be educated or uneducated.

It would be interesting to know just how great of a liberalizer different types of college educations are. I would suspect humanities classes liberalize much more completely than, say, physical chemistry, or maths.

I'm sure Bill didn't really mean to be insulting. It seems to me he may have perceived a personal attack where none existed. My post to Karen was (apparently) misinterpreted by him as a personal attack upon him, rather than a post about an idea that simply struck me funny.

Humor can often be misinterpreted here. Would it be possible to give Bill a pass on this one, since he does add a great deal of information, and since (I think) he felt he was attacked first?

edit- whatever actually happened, it would be sad to lose the balance here. It's been good the last couple of weeks.
