I strongly disagree. Adding her voice to critics of the extremists in such a public manner encourages others who have so far remained silent to come forward.

Writing to the extremists might be emotionally satisfying, but productive? I think not.

Writing to the people who aren't causing the problem and can do little, if anything, to stop it is?

This reminds me of the old story about the guy looking for his keys under the street light rather than where he dropped them. Ya gotta look where you dropped them.
