Rumsfield was definitely working for Reagan when he went and made arms deals with Saddam.

I knew that you would post that CNN article when I made my post to you. Rumsfeld did not make any arms deals with Saddam. He was a private citizen, the CEO of G.D. Searle, when he made the trip as Reagan's representative to Iraq. If Rumsfeld made any arms deals, post some proof and I will acknowledge my error. Nothings from newsmax, of course.

...the declassified cable show he was seeking not just Iraq's help in Lebanon but broader cooperation between the United States and Iraq to offset the power of Iran and Syria in the Middle East...Hussein and Aziz kept bringing the conversation with Rumsfeld back to their pressing wartime concern: that the United States should tell its allies and friends around the world to stop selling arms to Iran. Aziz even handed Rumsfeld a list of countries that were shipping weaponry to Iran. Rumsfeld told the Iraqi president not to worry; the United States was already encouraging other governments not to provide weapons to Iran and would continue to do so.... -- "Rise of the Vulcans" by James Mann, page 124.

Calling me a liar! Tsk, tsk. Does that mean that you have lost the debate?
