OOPS, forgot the Ontario surtax on higher incomes. Max. combined rate (Federal plus provincial) is about 48%

We were just up in Victoria the capital of BC, and have friends there...Nice business....expensive European kitchen ware....He is originally from Italy, and expressed with dismay the numbers I mentioned here....They are not a large corporation. He mentioned several other taxes as well....plus the cost of doing business in Canada....

They do like it there in Victoria....much as we do here in Seattle. They don't believe they are getting value received versus paid in the amount of taxes they pay, and both of them commented along those lines. She is usually the quieter one, more the accounting type....
