Did he say that Congress had to appropriate 2 billion dollars to Arizona and New Mexico just to keep emergency rooms open? Seems they are overrun.

Apparently, a "normal hospital doesn't have to treat illegal immigrants but ERs do. To keep the hospitals from hemoraging cash, they are just closing them.

Yes studying the history of the legislation that caused it is interesting. All I can say is that we have key policy makers that look to alan greenspan and say can't you just print more money? *sigh* Their inability to comprehend basic economic laws serves no one. Throwing more money at a problem seems to be the only terms they can think in. Like china thinks they can throw lots of money at oil and all is good :( I was surprised that only one state so far has implemented a system to train medical people in the foreign countries before they bring them here - but that is only in puerto rico so far. This should have been done long ago in proactive fashion to the known trends that were going to descend on our medical system. It gives me very little hope for our policymakers.
We have to stop thinking in terms of dollars at all levels of government, we need to think in terms of resources - people to doctors to oil to emergency rooms. If there is 1000 people and your ER has 1 doctor - the policymakers think if we pay him 1 billion dollars all will be OK - of course a child understand this foolishness - 1 doctor cannot see 1000 people at any level of pay in a day but like they said to Easy Al - can't you just print more money - HAHA.

As for the "agenda" - like I said earlier one of my grandfathers came here from mexico - he learned the language - fought in the war - went to go work a farm way out in the boonies and didn't expect a handout from the big city. He was thankful that he was to be given a small SS benefit in his future. We have a lot of land in some parts of this country where new immigrants could repeat his path - but that is not what they seem to want to do - they want to pile into the already overcrowded war zones (cities) to get the instant top of the line standard of living the generations that have been here for awhile are enjoying and that is just simply not possible - you would think moving from starving to death in a third world country to working the land in this great country would be a pretty good quality of life improvement for that first generation - but I just met a man from cuba - been here 6 months, already has nice 3bedroom home with pool in palm beach, goes to eat at smokey bones, all on ARM loans of course - hehe. Real estate connected job - I asked him what will he do if the job goes, he said he had no plan, I said would moving to a place with lots of good farmland and working the land be OK - he said anything beats going back to cuba. He does not speak english, if the condo boom does crash, he will have no job I fear. Probably the best you can do is to find this guy, marry his daughter, and forget about the rest - once the avalanche gets started how do you stop it - just go with the flow - hehe. Did your classmate have any ideas on things that could be done to make improvements for all involved?

Our government works in such a way that as the population demographics change their is a non violent shift of power - or at least that is how it is supposed to work - you know if this was a few decades back we could send teddy roosevelt down into mexico on his horse - hehe. To stop the shift of power, you must stop the change in population demographics - well perhaps several senore's figured out all they have to do is get in themselves and a bunch of thier brudders to take the reigns of power - but power without wisdom to weild it will do little for them long term and they will just recreate a third world country inside of the first world one they migrated too. I hope in a few years we don't hear those latin policy makers say to thier local budget folks - cant you just print more pesos!!! :(
