Agree on the fair trial. Unfortunately arresting some of those characters in a timely fashion is no small trick. BTW, I was no fan of the gov. actions in either case. Tactics used in both cases were terrible from my POV. Here in Oregon we did better with the gun totting Bagwan that tried to take over Wasco county. Ever here of him? He was a riot!

They also deserved a fair trial in order to make that determination.

If they are foreigners committing a terrorist act, they are illegal combantants and entitled to a military tribunal to confirm their status. If confirmed, they are then entitled to nearest firing squad. Anything they get beyond that is charity. Our problem is that we have not made this fate clear.
