Ted, Its hot in the OC? Don't you have AC?

Yeah, but (a) everyone else does, too, and we're getting calls to conserve power, (b) much of the leisure time I spent over the past several weeks was spent outdoors, and (c) I don't really like the "fake cool" of air conditioning.

You are one of the few who has said that........I agree I don't like the "fake cool" feeling but its better than the heat. It was the kind of weather you all are experiencing right now that would get on my nerves. It can keep it up until October. Of course, there are others like Z who love it. I had a friend in LA who could not get enough of it. She would go to the desert......Palm Springs.....whenever should could get away and just lay by the pool.

It kind of increases the cabin fever here, if you know what I mean.

Cabin fever..........good way to explain it.....that's what I would feel starting in July and it would continue until Oct........a kind of cabin fever. People from the rest of the country could never understand what I was saying....to them S. CA weather is the best in the world.....and it is......for many people.
