It makes no sense to me that someone who so disapproves of federally funded stem-cell research that he would veto a bell promoting it would not also disapprove of the privately funded variety.

Their argument from the start is that taxpayers dollars shouldn't be used to fund an activity they think is murder. They can't use this against private funding.

IF Bush were so "opposed" to embryonic stem-cell research, he would never have proposed ANY of that type of research and suggest that the Government pay for it.

That's not the case, now, is it?

Key word...embryonic....

There are many types of stem cell research that are under way, and seem to be more promising than embryonic.
