I'd seen this before, either here or elsewhere. It does not change my opinion.

Iraq does not need to "side" with Iran for America to have a (much more) miserable time in Iraq. It will be sufficient for Iran not to side with the present Iraqi government and perhaps aid the insurgents a little bit. You do know that whatever "success" US has had in Iraq has been due to Sistani, an Iranian, restraining the Shia...Bush's forgotten Eastern Front, a.k.a. Afghanistan would be a lot worse too if Iran was to withdraw its calming influence.
