The worst of it all is the TSA wands and metal detectors do not detect explosives. Geeze.... Didn't know that. Is that a technology thing or a money thing, that the detectors can't detect explosives..... Are we relying solely on dogs then?

Been wondering about that. What about the detonators, and the wires from the detonators to the explosives? Also, I assume if it's a nail bomb they'll pick up that.

I've noticed a definite difference between the sensitivities of metal detectors. Some are far more sensitive than others. Some will pick up a pair of earrings. Others won't pick up a wristwatch and a pair of shoes with steel shanks.

Also, I wonder if the operators can dial them down. When I am by myself I seem to not set them off as frequently as when the joint is jumping.
