Elimination of the draft was one of the worst things to happen to US youth. No values, no self worth, only greed in a 'gimme' mentality. Weak in body and in mind for a large part. Of course, Carters 1st proof of mental retardation, amnesty to draft dogers instead of jail, contributed to the country he continually tries to weaken and embarrass in his weak minded and embarrassing state.

Hillary has been making statements that we need something like 60,000 more troops. She knows this blunts the perception that she is dovish. She also hopes to force the Whitehouse into reinstating the draft.
