I am hesitant to open this door to religion in the science room.

It would be a disaster, IMO. Children are much less critical of material than adults. And they love easy answers.

I notice that this coming TV season is going to be very heavy in superstition. I love "magical realism," but get ready for a lot of "seers" with "answers."

I am mystified about all this talk about evolution being scientific. evolution is simply a general self evident bit of common sense that says a population will be effected by the stresses placed upon it. The effect being that those best adapted to the conditions will by change be more likely to procreate and pass on the characteristics that helped them survive to procreate in the first place.

Now if one could quantify complexity, would the complexity of the genome of one cell of an animal contain more than 99% of the complexity of the entire creature. evolution does not explain how a single cell of such complexity came into being in clear violation of the second law of thermodynamics. Of course most people don't have clue about the complexity of a single cell or the faintest idea about what entropy is.

But so many have a faith based belief in the proclamation that evolution is somehow science. On the other hand the random faults of logic found in humans does not violate the second law of thermodynamics.

In science many look for a grand unification theory. In each humans life many may search for a grand unification of life theory.

How is ID a scientific theory? well a theory that does not violate scientific theory is a scientific theory. Evolution violates the second law of thermodynamics and thus is not a scientific theory.
