Z, Of course, and right now all teachers owe everything they have to them. Without unions, there's no doubt in my mind that teachers would make less money.

Nothing wrong with teachers unionizing and becoming a special interest, but when the state caters to these special interests more than the public interest, the quality of teaching declines.

That's not logical.........its not even deductive reasoning. Just because a teacher joins a union does not mean that the quality of teaching declines. The quality of teaching declines when the better teachers leave for lack of money.

The fallacy is believing that what's good for the teacher's unions is automatically good for the public. Paying teachers more for the same quality of education will simply force politicians to raise taxes and get themselves voted out of office, possibly to be replaced by those who actually care about the public's interest.

Its sounds to me that you are more worried about your wallet than the public's interest.

And I'm saying that we should be paying more for a better quality of education! Are you reading my posts?

Higher pay AND higher standards.
