The way to fix this is to lobby for realistic speed limits, not take personal exemptions.

I don't follow you. Do you mean not speed or not fight tickets?

I refuse to stop doing either. Both have the same effect, though not as directly or effectively as the method you suggest, since data accumulates indicating that the limits are unrealistic.

I don't have the time to lobby.

From what I've seen in traffic court you won't get a ticket if you're on the Interstate going above the speed limit during rush hour as long as you stick with everybody else.

Even the cops do about 70 on the Beltway then. They're out there looking for broken down cars and people doing really stupid things like driving faster than everybody else.

At night is a different story.

BTW, the way to attract a cop's attention is to have several of those pine tree thingies dangling from your rear view mirror. Might as well carry a sign saying "somebody stop me."
