Hi geodeOO,

re: ""Vietnam, regardless of all the yammering about dominoes, never had that effect on the world. Geez, we were so afraid of Communist China and then it morphed...""

Well what happened in Vietnam was OIL related again, imo, because at that time, the South China Sea was thought to have been VERY permissive for the discovery of tremendous reserves of oil.. It didn't work out, but we had to make sure the dominoes didn't fall on a potential 10s of billions of barrels of reserves.. So I guess it might be considered a "domino theory" of guessing where the last domino might fall to show where the treasure might be buried.

Just my thoughts, as I am no oil geologist, but I am a geologist and I do understand enough of petroleum geology to understand where the "prize" might lie...

And by deduction of logic, we never seemed to care if the last domino fell in Rawanda or Sudan for example.. :(

Just my thoughts but they are usually not far from the mark..
