We're far from the level of irrationalism that you bring up in those examples. Really? I don't agree. When a president says that ID should be taught along side evolution; when a president says a ball player is innocent of steroids when he's been tested and found guilty; when the VP and ole Rummie say we are winning the war in Iraq, inspite of the fact that the evidence says to the contrary; when Congress is reconvened inpromptu to write special legislation for a woman in a vegetative state in FLA, setting a new precedent in this country; when fifty senators purple their index finger and salute a president who spends most of his time bike riding, I would say not only have we become more irrational than we were 50+ years ago, but, in fact, the US has entered the Age of Irrationalism. And people like you who should know better defend this irrationalism. And let me add one more thing.........terrorists like OBL are clever and they have a fire in their bellies because of their ideology and religious fundamentalism. However, they are still just men. Yet, they have managed to thwart one of the world's largest superpowers not because they are brilliant but because the leaders of the superpower are inept and do not understand the enemy they are fighting. You say I should focus my anger at the terrorists like you have. Sorry, dude, I am focused on the people who chose to lead this country and who should have been able to reduce the amount of terrorism in the world instead of increase it. Due to their arrogance and lying, we are in a mess. And you share that arrogance......smugly you sit back and think that JF, AL, Z or I don't get what's going on when its you who is misled and who is misunderstanding the reality. And then when you get cornered, you begin to prevaricate and do a little verbal dance. And one last thing.......so that you are clear of my position.......I do not have a problem with the concept of a deity like God. As I have said before, I am unclear as to the nature of the universe and whether there is a superior being or not. I continue to explore and research that area. However, what I abhor is organized religion and how organized religion has twisted and perverted almost every good thing in the Bible. How organized religion in the name of their god has perpetrated the unholiest of actions. As long as they choose to keep among themselves, that's fine. But when they come into my world and try to change it, there will be big problems. That goes for fundamentist Muslims AND fundamentalist Christians.Heck, we can't even profile without someone accusing the government of racism. We can't profile because of this country's diversity and because we have a history of racism mostly but not exclusively promoted by the GOP of the past.
