>> I think gnosticism is crap.

Please keep that to yourself and refer to the thread header for the rules of conduct.

"It is absolutely, positively, NOT ok to put down a religion (even pagan ones) or make fun of a belief."

The next time anyone here wants to state that XYZ belief is "crap" or worthy of ridicule via "LOL" or anything along those lines, they should first picture their own beliefs in such light.

Well , there are many forms of "knowing" certainly . And of feeling and loving .

The question really has to do with your love of the poor, disenfranchised , infirmed and helpless . I would submit many of us do all start out with this same "blessed" kind of innocent senses of egaliity, equality , caring & compassion . To despise the elitism and the selfish & hypocrites that design a world for their own satisfaction .

I would ask you then , that without a "Christ" or a religion , would you have found your way to these realizations still ? I would also ask you what the concept of "awakening" means in romans ? And how it differs from the Buddhist way of thought ?
Personaly , I think one word sums up Christianity and that word is -->"agape".

Interestingly enough , there is one word that sums up Buddhismand Hinduism which is almost the same in spirit called --> "ahimsa "

Why would an almighty God choose to differentiate , when the outcome of both is the same ? That is love and compassion..and lives well lived .

Jesus spoke of awakening , Buddha did as well . Please point out the differences here .

regards

Mars

If there is such a thing as a "priviledged circle," it will be located in the opposite place of where we would think to look - not the illuminati Billionaires, but among the lowly and the humble.

Well we could jump to condemn the Rothchilds (and others ) , who financed every Christian King or Pope , and the dirty vicious Holy Wars they persued .... that lasted all the way down to the middle of the last century . They were only providing a srrvices those fellows desired . There certainly was one more classic example of the of the "Chosen People" " master race " idea we were to witness in WWII , and I would agree it had also tried to use the tie-in of certain "esoteric" beliefs to give it power and validity .

You can find the same ideas shining out of the Bible, exactly, in Deuteronomy ....of "God-Sanctioned " genocide & mass murder . It was only some time later after Moses returned down from Mt Sinai to address his people , that his brother "Yeshua" put the slaughter to 180,000 men women and children over in Jericho.

But as for some imaginary Billionaire Gnostic conspiracy , I'm not sure exactly to what you refer ? Bill & Melinda Gates? Warren Buffet ? Laksmi Mittal?
forbes.com Or?

There certainly have been some great examples of heroic efforts made on the part of good & humble people, doing great work in the face of such desperate times. Certainly the blame can be spread all around . Now we see three great movements in the world represented by the secular socialist/democratic state and the remaining monarchy & fundamentalist theocratic rule. Then there is the "Godless Atheist Marxists of China , that are doing a pretty fair job of improving the lot of their people so far <g>

Lets not give up , perhaps a little moderation in all things may sometime somewhere prevail...especialy when oil hits $100 barrel.
