Took off in typhoon weather? I thought all flights from Pudong were cancelled. Count the blessing, maybe only eight lives left? Take care of them. We need your perspectives for a few more decades while this teotwaki unfolds.

Sorry about your risky adventure. Most go-arounds are initiated about 200+ feet or more. Seventy feet is a bit low.

On the good side, your pilot was expecting to go around, so he would have had the engines spooled up and screaming, and was ready for the cross wind gusts.

On the other hand, Aussie pilots and risk aversion don't seem to go together in the same sentence.
