Are you genuinely surprised that article was posted on the anniversary of the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima? Based on prior experience, I fully expected to find something along those lines. I can't say I was "pleased" to find it, though.

I seriously doubt there was any intentional linkage with the anniversary of the dropping of the bomb on Hiroshima.

Besides, the post was made at at time when it was still 8/5/2005. Poster occupies an ecological niche that is within the Pacific Time Zone.

I posted the article just after I happened to read it online, at lucianne.com. It seems to be a review of a new book. While the author of the book may have timed its publication around the Hiroshima anniversary, I have no knowledge of that, or whether the reviewer timed his review, either. Or whether the lucianne.com member who posted the review of the book timed it. I never time anything at Feelies. If I find something interesting, I might post it here.

There is lots of discussion suddenly about whether our nuclear bombing of Japan really saved very many lives, or was an attack of total evil. I think it is a relevant discussion to have. I don't see its direct connection with the atrocities committed by Americans against Japanese soldiers, however.

I must say I find all these insinuations about timing, etc. very strange. Like some sort of conspiracy theory. I barely have time to post here most days, and when I post, I try to squeeze in as much as possible. No planning involved! I think I will go find some articles about Hiroshima after I fix dinner or something, though!
